DECAF - COLOMBIA
Our Decaf is the perfect non-caffeinated drop! The Decaf is produced by selected farms in the Popayan Reserve.
The decaffeinating process for this coffee is unique. First, the green beans are steamed to remove silver skin. The beans are then submerged in spring water until saturated. Next, the coffee is then placed in EA (an organic compound which is a natural by product of sugarcane) for 8 years. This dissolves the caffeine content. The beans are then placed in chambers until they return to their moisture content pre steaming.
The biggest advantage to this process (besides being chemical free and delicious!) is that the process was developed and completed in Colombia. This avoids coffee being sent to Mexico, Germany or Canada to be caffeinated, which keeps the profits in the community growing the coffee!
