JAIRO ARCILA - NATURAL CUTURRON

Jairo Arcila is a third-generation coffee grower from Quindo, Colombia. Husband to Luz Helena Salazar and father to Cofinet co-founders Carlos and Felipe.

Jairo's first job was at Colombia's second-largest exporter, working as their Mill Manager for over 40 years until his retirement in 2019. Jairo brought his first farm Finca La Esmeralda in 1987, and this is where he planted his first Caturra lot.

With his earnings from the farm and working full time, Jairo purchased five additional farms. After Esmeralda came Villarazo, Mazatlan, Santa Monica, Maracay then Buenos Aires. During the harvest period, Jairo is able to provide jobs to locals which has a significant economic impact on their community.

This 100% Caturron microlot was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. This coffee is sun-dried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moistures content is achieved.

Caturron is a rare mutation of Caturra found for the first time in Acevado, Huila. Growers started planing Caturro due to it's resistance to leaf rust and high yeild.
